Day 1
Colombo Airport to Anuradhapura
Arrive at Bandaranayake International Airport and be met at the airport by our representative, who will drive you to the hotel in Anuradhapura (standard check-in time 1400 hrs. Distance 200 km – Duration 4hrs).
Anuradhapura is an ancient city in Sri Lanka’s central north, known for its rich cultural and historical significance. It was the first capital of Sri Lanka and is considered one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. The city is home to several well-preserved ancient structures, including massive stupas, ancient temples, and royal palaces. Visit Sri Maha Bodhiya, the oldest recorded tree in the world, and the Ruwanwelisaya Stupa, a massive dome-shaped monument that is considered one of the most sacred Buddhist shrines in Sri Lanka. Visitors can also explore the Jetavanarama Stupa, Abhayagiri Monastery, and Isurumuniya rock temple.

Day 02
Anuradhapura
In the early morning, take a Jeep Safari to Wilpattu National Park in the northwest. Wilpattu is one of the country's largest and oldest national parks. Famous for its untamed wilderness and diverse wildlife, including leopards, elephants, and various bird species, it offers a thrilling safari experience. The park's numerous ‘villus’ (natural water basins) add to its unique landscape, making it a captivating destination for nature enthusiasts and wildlife photographers.
In the evening, enjoy a magical evening exploring Anuradhapura, an ancient city steeped in history and spirituality. As the sun sets, witness the mystical charm of sacred sites, illuminated stupas, and ancient ruins. Day 03
Anuradhapura - Kandy
Check out after breakfast and head to Kandy (Distance 145 km – Duration 3hrs 30 min).
En route, visit Dambulla Cave Temple & Spice Garden.
Dambulla Cave Temple is also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla. It’s a remarkable Buddhist religious site and one of the country's most renowned and well-preserved cave temple complexes. The temple consists of a series of five caves that have been transformed into stunning rock-cut sanctuaries adorned with intricate Buddhist murals and statues. They house over 150 statues of Buddha, including a 14-metre-long reclining Buddha statue, as well as numerous ancient frescoes depicting scenes from Buddhist mythology. Dating back to the 1st century BC, it’s a UNESCO World Heritage site that showcases the rich Buddhist heritage and artistic achievements of ancient Sri Lanka. Visitors can explore their interiors and breathtaking vistas of the surrounding countryside.
In the evening, visit the Temple of the Tooth, built in the 15th century. It’s famous for enshrining the tooth relic of Sakyamuni, a national treasure of Sri Lanka. The monastery, with a hall and upper and lower floors, is surrounded by a moat and guarded by corner towers, reflecting the typical style of Sinhalese national architecture. There is also a World Buddhism Museum in the temple, which shows the spread and development of Buddhism worldwide.

Kandy – Yala
Check out after breakfast for the drive to Yala (Distance 260 km – Duration 5hrs 45min).
Check in to the hotel upon arrival and spend the rest of the day at your leisure.

Day 05
Yala
Take an amorning game drive into Yala National Park. Its rich biodiversity and stunning landscapes mesmerise visitors and create a plentiful home for its wildlife inhabitants. At approximately 979 square kilometres, Yala is Sri Lanka’s second-largest national park and a sanctuary for numerous animal species, making it a prime destination for wildlife enthusiasts and nature lovers. The park has the highest concentration of leopards globally, making them the iconic symbol of Yala, but they are still elusive. If you don’t see a leopard, there are many other wonderful animals and a plethora of birds to be observed in the wild, including elephants, sloth bears, water buffalo, spotted deer, white-breasted sea eagles, peacocks and more. The drive takes you through dense jungle, grassy plains, semi-arid scrublands, and scenic coastal lagoons, even passing scattered ancient and historical ruins and artifacts. Yala – Galle
Check out after breakfast and proceed to Galle (Distance 170 km – Duration 2hrs 45min).
